- How do I submit a manuscript to the journal? Go to the website component/jentlacontent/urotoday-international-journal-658.html and click on the tab that says Authors. All of the instructions about how to prepare and submit your documents are contained there. You will upload your manuscript and other documents through www.uij.edmgr.com.
- How do I proceed if I do not want to upload the three Author Agreement Forms (Submission, Conflict of Interest, License) through www.uij.edmgr.com? Our preference is that you upload the signed Author Agreement Forms on www.uij.edmgr.com. The instructions for how to submit them are provided on the website. However, you could upload a blank document so that you can proceed with your submission and then fax the signed forms to the number provided. Please note that we cannot publish your manuscript without the signature of each author on the agreement forms.
- Should I embed the figures in the body of the manuscript? No; please refer to your figures in the text, but upload each of the figures separately. This will give us access to the best quality image. List the title/legend of each figure at the end of the manuscript.
- Should I embed the tables in the body of the manuscript? Tables may be placed at the end of the manuscript. Tables should not be uploaded as separate documents.
- How do I decide which category fits the content of my manuscript? A description of each category is contained in the Information for Authors.
- How do I cite a journal article that is in press? A manuscript is listed as "in press" prior to publication of the upcoming issue. An example of what is included in the citation is: Serels S, Nosseir SB, Lind LR, Winkler HA. Safety and efficacy of the Solyx single-incision sling for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence: preliminary results. UroToday Int J. In press. doi:10.3834/uij.1944-5784.2011.02.05.
- How do I cite a journal article that is published? An article that is published in a current or past issue (not in press) is cited in this format: Halachmi S, Moskovitz B, Native O. Tumor recurrence following nephron-sparing surgery for renal cancer: rate, patterns, and predictors. UroToday Int J. 2010 Dec;3(6):art2. doi:10.3834/uij.1944-5784.2010.12.17.
- How do I cite a case report that is in the diagnostic challenge (multiple-choice diagnostic questions) on the journal website? The case report for the diagnostic challenge is educational material for a website, not a journal article. An example of the citation is: Shapiro E. Diagnostic challenge case report: inferior vena cava. UroToday International Journal Web site. component/jentlacontent/urotoday-international-journal-658.html. Published December 14, 2010. Accessed (date). Note: The accessed date is the last date that you opened the case on the website prior to referencing it, to indicate that it is still available.
